The Yellow Lantern Kampground was built on the former Graham Farm. The campground sits on the edge of the Tioghnioga River and utilizes 40 acres of land. The campground was constructed by the Gallagher Family and sold to two other families before being purchased by the Panzanella Family in 1987-who still own and operate it today. Construction of Phase 1 began January 8th, 1972. It consisted of 50 sites , an office , a store, laundry, and restrooms. In April of 1973, Phase 2 was completed by adding more sites, a recreation hall, second laundry location, second restrooms location, along with a pool and two playgrounds. In the same year more than 50 trees were planted to help beautify the campground.
In May of 1987, when the Panzanella Family bought the campground they took over ownership a week shy of Memorial Day with much work ahead of them as no preparation had been done for the upcoming summer. With the help of family and many of the long time seasonal campers, they were able to get through the first summer of what would become their lifelong dream fulfilled. Over the years, the Panzanellas have made many improvements to the campground inclusive of updating the electric, adding full hookup sites, 50 amp service and new patio outside the recreation hall with a beautiful fire pit.
